When in Thailand...

Muay Thai has a lot of history! It started in Southern India and spread out. Each country has different names for it, and different iterances of it. It's a really fascinating and different way to view history, through the evolution of martial arts.

Art of 8 Limbs

Specific To Thailand

Muay Boran is the ancient warfare.

Rules are implemented to make it safer (compared to deadly force) for a martial art.

Benefits

Great cardio!

If you've ran, swam, or done any water activities you're used to getting gassed, certainly! This will tax you in new ways and get those muscles fired up in new ways. You will find new muscles that ache you didn't know you had in your feet, ankles, and ass.

Discipline

Mindfulness. It's about being in the PRESENT, right now, no worrying about the past or the future.

You are just existing fully in this moment.

Some people find it freediving, scuba diving, climbing, skiing, or making music.

I've found it possible in all of these, and it's doable with Muay Thai, as well.

No one cares about your shorts, how fat you are, if you're soaked in BO (maybe a little), bring a good attitude and an open mind!

Mood and Happiness
Moving our bodies in new ways, challenging ourselves and mastering it can give you a huge happy-boost! It can create or reinforce neural pathways that's been shown to stave off cognitive decline.

Experience Something New!
It's history. It's spicy. It's a good way to walk off all that pad thai.
Or train in the homeland!
Been training before? Awesome, go train with the kids who live and breathe Muay Thai, share your experience and passion with them! Maybe learn something new, too.
